1. About Sayso

Sayso is an iOS app that helps you practice speaking. It records short reads on your device, produces a Speech Score, and offers daily practice exercises. By downloading or using Sayso, you agree to these terms.

2. What Sayso is not

Sayso is a skill-building tool for everyday communication and confidence. It does not provide medical, clinical, or professional advice of any kind, and scores are informational only.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Sayso offers auto-renewing subscriptions: yearly at $39.99 with a 7-day free trial, and monthly at $7.99 with no trial. Prices are in USD and may vary by region. All purchases are billed and managed by Apple through your App Store account.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel anytime in your App Store subscription settings. If you cancel during the yearly free trial before it ends, you will not be charged.

Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies.

4. Free tier

Without a subscription, Sayso includes a limited number of scored reads and sample exercises. We may adjust what is included in the free tier over time.

5. Your content

Your recordings, transcripts, and scores are created and stored only on your device. We do not receive them, so we claim no rights over them. Deleting the app or using "Delete all my data" in Settings removes them permanently.

6. Acceptable use

Don't reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the app, and don't use it in any way that violates applicable law or Apple's App Store terms.

7. Intellectual property

Sayso, the Sayso logo, the lyrebird mascot, and all app content (prompts, exercises, and design) are owned by Sayso and protected by copyright and trademark law. These terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond normal personal use of the app.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Sayso is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sayso is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use Sayso after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
